Supporting Australia’s energy transition to renewables
Squadron Energy is Australia’s leading renewable energy investor, developer and operator, with more than 200 employees in 13 locations across Australia.
Squadron has 1.1 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy in operation and an Australian development pipeline of 20GW – enough electricity to power 8.5million average Australian homes.
In NSW, Squadron has three existing operational wind farms: Sapphire (Northern Tablelands), Crudine Ridge (Central West) and Bango (Southern Tablelands). Our pipeline in regional NSW consists of an additional seven renewable energy projects either in development or approved for construction.
During the construction phase, each of these projects will bring hundreds of jobs to regional communities across NSW, as well as tens of permanent ongoing positions in operations.
Ed Mounsey, Executive General Manager - Development of Squadron Energy says:
"When we investigate new locations for investment, we start by looking at the standard components such as the quality of the solar/wind resource and the availability of land close to transmission infrastructure. But it’s so much more than that. We look at communities we can invest in and ultimately become a part of. We recognise that building genuine, long-lasting relationships with rural and regional communities is the key to delivering the projects needed to lead Australia’s energy transition to renewables.”
