Five identified zones will keep NSW electricity reliable as coal-fired power stations retire, delivering large amounts of new energy to power our regions and cities. These include the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, New England Renewable Energy Zone, South West Renewable Energy Zone, Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone, and the Illawarra Renewable Energy Zone.
Increased supply and access to renewable energy and gas that puts downward pressure on prices will encourage energy intensive industries to set up new facilities in regional NSW.
