Partnership delivers technical expertise in data science, cyber-security and artificial intelligence
Leading global technology company IBM and Charles Sturt University announced in November 2021 a multi-year partnership designed to support local job creation, provide new career pathways for students and accelerate digital skills development in regional NSW.
The centrepiece of the partnership will be the creation of a new IBM Client Innovation Centre (CIC), with the regional hub based in Bathurst. The centre aims to employ more than 300 professionals and support IBM’s clients across Australia, delivering technical expertise in areas such as data science, cyber-security, artificial intelligence (AI) and hybrid cloud.
The partnership with IBM will also grow and strengthen CSU's research capability in cybersecurity, data and digital services. The two organisations will co-create new programs via access to IBM’s Global Universities Program.
Professor Renée Leon, Vice Chancellor, Charles Sturt University says:
“The IBM Client Innovation Centre in Bathurst is a historic partnership for regional NSW, one which will create a wealth of opportunities for Charles Sturt University’s students, teaching staff and researchers, as well as the regional communities we proudly support.”
