Founded in 2000, Apollo Fabrications is an Australian owned and operated family business run from their state-of-the-art headquarters in Young.
Having started out manufacturing specialist waste management equipment, the business has evolved to become a leader in the design, fabrication and installation of large, complex structural steel for the leading names in Australia’s construction industry.
From little things big things grow
A farmer in Western Australia for most of his life, Terry Jackson spotted an opportunity to manufacture waste-handling equipment for the growing agriculture and industrial sectors in regional NSW. After building their capabilities on smaller projects, Apollo won its first major project as part of a team building a large church in Canberra. From there, word of mouth attracted more complex architectural design projects like Warragamba Dam, The Scots College and SCG Trust Office.
Investing in the future of regional manufacturing
After a period of growth, in 2010 Apollo built a 2,200 sqm facility in Young to enable even bigger projects like Sydney Airport (T1) and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Over time, Apollo employed skilled talent from across the region, doubled their production capacity and began importing steel.
In recent years, Apollo has invested in a state-of-the-art 3,500sqm facility with automation tools, a purpose-built 500 sqm training facility and new 600sqm office with a growing list of projects including Barker College, Ashfield Aquatic Centre, Wagga Hospital, Greenacre Processing Plant and more.
Expanding into government and commercial infrastructure
From their regional NSW base, Apollo has built a foundation to handle even larger projects including the iconic Sirius Building, a landmark development alongside Sydney Harbour Bridge, and significant government infrastructure contracts.
The business is led by a team of experienced and highly-qualified industry leaders with many years of experience delivering complex steel construction projects.
Regional NSW gives Apollo the best of both worlds
Caleb Jackson, Operations Director at Apollo, explains the benefits of operating in regional NSW - “Operating from Young gives us the best of both worlds. We have access to major markets up and down the eastern seaboard and cost-effective manufacturing facilities, which has helped us grow profitably. Plus, with affordable housing, a beautiful environment and relaxed lifestyle, we can attract and retain highly skilled workers who want to build a life and career here.”
Building a strong future
Today, Apollo specialises in the design, fabrication and installation of large, complex structural steel for the leading names in Australia’s construction industry.
