The Roadmap sets out a 20-year vision for NSW to produce more world-leading new technologies, products and services, and develop and sustain globally competitive advantages and future industries that improve productivity, standards of living, quality of life, and the natural environment.
Research and Development is a key driver of new jobs, future businesses, international investment and economic growth. The Roadmap identifies four themes – digital, materials and chemistry, biotechnology, and energy – and 39 applications to focus investment over the next two decades.
The recent Innovation and Productivity Scorecard show that NSW has a resilient and dynamic economy but that there is room to grow and improve in the Research and Development space.
