Over the last two weeks, we hosted six investment attraction training workshops across regional New South Wales (NSW), attended by over 60 local council representatives.
The workshops were facilitated by internationally renowned direct investment expert, Andreas Dressler, who covered current global trends and the importance of local, state, and federal government collaboration as part of the Regional Investment Activation Program.
Tamworth, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Coffs Harbour, Maitland, and Queanbeyan each hosted a workshop, with 100% of attendees finding the investment attraction training valuable following a post-attendance feedback survey.
Attendees found hearing the ‘investor perspective’ on a location decision making process the most valuable, followed by understanding where local government can make an impact on the investment attraction process, and practical and ‘real world’ examples.
“I found the content of the presentation from Andreas to be informative, well balanced, and highly knowledgeable, and I feel privileged to have heard him speak in person,” Warren Shire Council Economic Development and Visitation Manager Susan Balogh said.
We are excited to see the positive impact these sessions will have on development across regional NSW. If you're interested in the opportunities that are popping up across the regions, reach out to us at info@investregional.nsw.gov.au.
